Calling All Young Film Makers, Send Us Your Short Film & Win An UNICEF UK Youth Award

Young film makers are invited to enter their short films and videos into a brand new film competition.
WHO CAN ENTER? We want to see any short films and videos made by young people. You can be an individual, a school group, a youth club, a film making group, anyone, as long as you are under 19 years old.
WHAT SORT OF FILM? We are looking for short films up to 30 minutes duration and are keen to see 1 minute shorts. The subject can be whatever you like, but priority will be given to those films with the theme of young people's rights. Films and videos must have been completed after 1 January 2004.
WHAT CAN WE WIN? The winning film will be awarded the first prestigious UNICEF UK YOUTH AWARD and screened at Showcomotion. Prizes include free tours of Pinewood Studios, IMAX cinema tickets and other great goodies.
WHAT'S THE NEXT STEP? The deadline for entries is FRIDAY 8 APRIL 2005

HOW WILL THE WINNING FILM BE CHOSEN? There will be a Jury made up of young people & film professionals. They will choose a short list of films which will be screened at Showcomotion between 30 June - 9 July. The first prize will be announced during the award ceremony at Showcomotion.
FILMS4LIVES The UNICEF UK YOUTH AWARD is part of the brand new FILMS4LIVES initiative that has been set up to help raise awareness of human rights and global issues as well as raising money for charities helping children. FILMS4LIVES is the first INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN'S HUMAN RIGHTS FILM FESTIVAL. All money raised will be donated to UNICEF and NSPCC to help young people internationally and in the UK.
TOURING PROGRAMME After the Showcomotion, the shortlisted films will be taken on a fundraising tour with the mobile Gorilla Cinema. www.gorillacinema.co.uk/cinema
